Occurrence is a new CD from Iceland Symphony published and recorded by Sono Luminus. The album contains five works by Icelandic composers Daníel Bjarnason, Veronique Vaka, Haukur Tómasson, Þuríður Jónsdóttir og Magnús Blöndal Jóhannsson conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, the orchestra's Principal Guest Conductor.

Home Delivery Concerts Streamed from Harpa
The Iceland Symphony Orchestra delivers music to your doorstep with concert streaming from Harpa Concert Hall. The concerts will be streamed on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 17:00 GMT. Musicians from the orchestra take the stage and perform some wonderful chamber music for everyone to enjoy.

Concertgoer's Guide in Covid
We look forward to welcoming you back to Harpa Concert Hall. In compliance with the applicable distancing regulations an empty seat is between each purchased order, the concert hall is cleaned and disinfected regularly and the hall has been divided into separate areas. Concertgoers are asked to stay within their area, practice social distancing and stay at home if they feel ill.

Positions of Co-Principal Viola and tutti cello are open for applications until March 15, 2020. Auditions will be at Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavik on May 11th and 13th respectively.

Vladimir Ashkenazy retires from conducting
Vladimir Ashkenazy, the Iceland Symphony’s Conductor Laureate, has announced that he is retiring from conducting. Ashkenazy has made an invaluable contribution to Icelandic musical life, as a pianist, conductor, and organizer. The orchestra extends its deepest thanks to Ashkenazy for a unique and inspiring collaboration that reaches back more than half a century.

Iceland Symphony tours the United Kingdom in February
Britain's concertgoers are set to experience the Iceland Symphony's celebrated tonal richness and élan in February 2020, courtesy of its first ever tour of the UK. The orchestra will give eight concerts with Yan Pascal Tortelier and solo pianists Jean-Efflam Bavouzet and Yeol Eum Son.

Successful tour of Germany and Austria with Daníel and Víkingur
The Iceland Symphony is back home from a successful tour of Germany and Austria. Daníel Bjarnason conducted the orchestra at five concerts in three cities with soloists Víkingur Ólafsson and Radovan Vlatković. Performing works by Icelandic composers Anna Thorvaldsdottir and Daníel Bjarnason as well as by Grieg, Tchaikovsky and Sibelius.
