Wagner's Die Walküre cancelled
Due to the state of the pandemic in Iceland as well as abroad, the decision has been made to cancel the Iceland Symphony Orchestra's and Icelandic Opera's production of Wagner's Die Walküre, which was to take place as part of the Reykjavík Art Festival in Harpa on 24th and 26th February 2022. The state of the pandemic in Iceland as well as abroad makes it impossible to go ahead with the staging of the opera, as it is an extensive production with the participation of many artists from all over the world.
All tickets will be fully refunded. If payment was made by card the refund will be issued automatically. In other cases or if questions arise, please contact the Harpa box office at midasala@harpa.is.
The production of Die Walküre was originally scheduled for Reykjavik Arts Festival in the Spring of 2020 but had since then been postponed twice because of COVID. We still hope to be able to stage this ambitious production in the coming years.
