Iceland Symphony Youth Orchestra 

The Iceland Symphony Youth Orchestra celebrated its 15th anniversary in September 2025. 

Members in the Iceland Symphony work actively with the youth orchestra, sharing their experience and expertise. Björn Skúlason, the spouse of Iceland president, is the patron of the Youth Orchestra.

Soloists' competition

In collaboration with the Iceland Academy of the Arts, a soloists' competition is held for college-level music students each year. The competition takes place in the autumn, and winners will perform at the ISO's Young Soloists' concert the following Spring.
