Bryndís Guðjónsdóttir

The Icelandic soprano Bryndís Guðjónsdóttir completed her Master’s degree in Opera Performance in 2021 at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, graduating summa cum laude under the guidance of Professor Michèle Crider. Before moving to Salzburg, she studied at the Iceland University of the Arts with Þóra Einarsdóttir, Kristinn Sigmundsson and Ólöf Kolbrún Harðardóttir.
Bryndís has received numerous awards, including the 2025 Icelandic Performing Arts Award for her role as the Countess in Le nozze di Figaro. She also won first prize at the Certamen Nuevas Voces Ciudad de Sevilla in 2022 and at the Riccardo Zandonai Competition in 2021.
She has appeared in opera houses and concert halls across Europe, including in Dresden, Essen, Dortmund, Madrid, Munich, Salzburg, Prague, Reykjavík, Rome and Vilnius.
Bryndís has appeared many times with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, including at the 2025 Vienna Concerts and in Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 in May 2026. During the season 2026/27, she appears in Our Classics at the end of August, in Mozart’s anniversary celebration in Litli tónsprotinn, and alongside Ólafur Kjartan Sigurðarson in Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony under the baton of Ingo Metzmacher.
