Arnheiður Eiríksdóttir
Mezzo-sopran
Icelandic mezzo-soprano Arnheiður Eiríksdóttir was named “Rising Star” at the International Opera Awards in Munich last autumn. She also received the Czech Thalia Award as Opera Singer of the Year 2023 for her portrayal of Octavian in Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier, and was nominated again the following year for her debut as the Composer in Ariadne auf Naxos.
Since 2020, Arnheiður has been a permanent soloist at the Czech National Theatre, where her roles have included Charlotte in Werther, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel, Dorabella in Così fan tutte and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro. She has also appeared with major opera houses and orchestras across Europe and Asia, including with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in 2024, when she performed songs by Edvard Grieg.
In the 2026–27 season, Arnheiður will sing several of Mahler's songs under the baton of Tomáš Hanus.
