Daníel Bjarnason appointed as Artistic Advisor to the Iceland Symphony

Daníel Bjarnason has been appointed as Artistic Advisor to the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.

Daníel is a composer and conductor who has worked internationally and collaborated with leading orchestras and artists around the world. He has maintained a close relationship with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra for many years, including as a conductor, artist-in-residence, principal guest conductor, and currently as an artist collaborator.

Daníel completed his studies in composition and conducting at the Reykjavík College of Music in 2003, and further studies in conducting at the Freiburg University of Music in 2007. In addition, he has completed a diploma (final exam) in piano performance from the FÍH Music School.

In his role as Artistic Advisor, Daníel will contribute to shaping and implementing the orchestra’s artistic vision in close collaboration with the Artistic Director and executive team. He will continue to serve as an artist collaborator.
