Each year, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra holds a competition for young soloists in collaboration with the Iceland Academy of the Arts (LHÍ). The competition is open to students at the collegiate level, irrespective of which school they attend, and the winners perform a solo with the ISO in Harpa's Eldborg hall. This year's conductor is ISO Conductor-in-Residence Nathanaël Iselin.
The ISO and LHÍ join forces in support of Iceland's most promising young musicians as they embark on their journey through the world of professional music. This concert is highly anticipated each year, and the atmosphere in the hall is matchless.
The ISO/LHÍ young soloists competition will be held at the beginning of 2023, and the winners' names will be posted on the Orchestra's website as soon as the results are in.
