The concert has been cancelled due to the newest assembly regulations in Iceland. Please note that ticket holders can exchange their tickets for other orchestra concerts later in the season. Should this not be feasible, the tickets can be refunded through the Harpa Ticket Office.
In September 2020, Finnish conductor Eva Ollikainen began her tenure as Chief Conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra. For the official season opener, she has selected German Romantic music by Wagner and Liszt, as well as two fantastic works for brass ensamble by Giovanni Gabrieli and Hans Leo Hassler.
The Russian virtuoso Denis Kozhukhin is one of the leading pianist of his generation and here he perfoms with the orchestra Franz Liszt's majestic Piano Concerto no. 2.
