The Iceland Symphony Orchestra strives to make sure all Icelanders have the opportunity to enjoy its concerts. Its interactions with local audiences throughout the country are always enjoyable and rewarding. In spring 2024, the orchestra visited Stykkishólmur and Borgarnes on a successful domestic tour and now heads to the South, to Höfn in Hornafjörður, Vík in Mýrdal and Selfoss.
Leading the orchestra is Eva Ollikainen, chief conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and joining the tour is Jóhann Kristinsson, a baritone singer who is one of our finest younger vocalists. He has received numerous awards for his singing, including the Icelandic Music Awards in 2024 as the singer of the year. Jóhann is based in Germany, regularly performs in many of Europe's top concert halls and has sung with several of the continent's leading symphony orchestras. It is therefore particularly enjoyable to visit Höfn, Vík and Selfoss with a splendid concert program suitable for the whole family.
