Högni Egilsson
Högni Egilsson has long ranked among Iceland’s best-known musicians, and both his own music and his work with the band Hjaltalín have garnered attention far beyond Iceland’s shores. He also composed the score to the Netflix series Katla, some of which was performed by the Iceland Symphony.
Högni is well educated in classical music. He studied violin as a child, sang with the Hamrahlíð Choir for a number of years, and completed composition studies at the Iceland University of the Arts. At this concert he shows yet another side, exploring the world of orchestral sound in new and captivating ways.
