Barbara Hannigan starts her inaugural season as Chief Conductor and Artistic Director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, and to mark the occasion, we are hosting an open presentation where you have the opportunity to meet the orchestra’s new chief conductor. Barbara will talk about her artistic vision and the highlights of the orchestra’s programme for the new season, and will then sit down with Guðni Tómasson, Managing Director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, who will be curious to learn about the person behind the art, her career, and the collaboration ahead. Don’t miss this unique opportunity to learn more about both Hannigan and the Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s new season.
Katie Buckley and Liam Kaplan will play gentle music for guests on harp and piano. The presentation will take place in Norðurljós, where refreshments will be available for purchase.
Admission is free and the presentation will be in English.
The event lasts approximately one hour. The hall opens at 17:30, and refreshments will be available for purchase from that time.
