Tan Dun has made a profound impact on international music through a creative output that bridges classical music, multimedia performance, and Eastern and Western traditions. A UNESCO Global Goodwill Ambassador, he has received many of the world’s leading honours, including a Grammy Award, Academy Award, Grawemeyer Award, Bach Prize, and Golden Lion Award for Lifetime Achievement.

His music is performed worldwide by major orchestras, opera houses, and festivals. As a conductor, Tan Dun is known for innovative programmes and has led many of the world’s foremost orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestre National de France.
