Ragnheiður Ingunn Jóhannsdóttir completed a Master's degree in singing at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in 2023, graduated from the Malko Conducting Academy in Copenhagen in 2024 (conducting the Danish National Symphony Orchestra) and from the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo 2026. Known for her ability to sing and conduct simultaneously, she attracted wide attention for her performance of Schoenberg's Pierrot lunaire at the Reykjavík Opera Days in 2024, earning nominations for both Singer of the Year and Performer of the Year at the Icelandic Music Awards 2025. In 2023 she was named The Brightest Hope at the awards.
Ragnheiður Ingunn plays regularly as a violinist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and has conducted the orchestra in recordings, lunchtime concerts, and children's concerts, as well as participating in the orchestra's conducting academy under the guidance of Eva Ollikainen.
She is the conductor of the Nordic Opera Choir, which performs concerts throughout the Nordic countries, including collaborations with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra.
