Joe Hisaishi

Conductor

Joe Hisaishi is a Japanese composer, conductor, and pianist. He is best known for his film scores for the Studio Ghibli movies, including Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and Howl's Moving Castle. He is Music Director of the Japan Century Symphony Orchestra, Composer-in-Association with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, and Composer-in-Residence with the Philadelphia Orchestra. He conducts regularly with the Chicago Symphony, Vienna Symphony, and London Symphony Orchestra, and records exclusively for Deutsche Grammophon.
