Canadian-born, Berlin-based cellist Bryan Cheng has emerged as one of the most compelling artists of his generation, praised for the intensity, urgency, and intimacy of his playing. He has achieved notable success in international competitions, becoming the only musician in 40 years to win prizes at both the Queen Elisabeth and Geneva International Music Competitions.

Known for deeply committed interpretations and original repertoire choices, Cheng is increasingly in demand with leading orchestras and festivals. In the 2025–26 season, he made debuts with ensembles including the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Nürnberger Symphoniker and Orchestre symphonique de Québec, while returning to the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin and Canada's National Arts Centre Orchestra.
