Violin

Alina Ibragimova is a Russian-British violinist recognised for the immediacy and honesty of her playing, performing repertoire from Baroque to new commissions on both modern and period instruments. She appears regularly with leading orchestras including the Budapest Festival Orchestra, London Philharmonic, Wiener Symphoniker, Finnish Radio Symphony, and Dresdner Philharmonie, and frequently play-directs the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and Camerata Bern. A founding member of the Chiaroscuro Quartet, she also performs regularly at Wigmore Hall, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. Her recording of Shostakovich's Violin Concertos won a Gramophone Award in 2020, and her 2021 recording of Paganini's 24 Caprices topped the classical charts on release. She holds an MBE and two Royal Philharmonic Society awards.

Alina Ibragimova performed with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in 2017, playing Brahms's Violin Concerto under the baton of Yan Pascal Tortelier.
