Alexandra Dariescu is a Romanian pianist known for her fearless curiosity and commitment to championing underrepresented composers, particularly women. She has forged strong relationships with orchestras including the BBC Symphony, London Symphony, Orchestre National de France, and the Royal Stockholm, Oslo, and Copenhagen Philharmonics, and has worked with conductors including Sakari Oramo, Vasily Petrenko, and Cristian Măcelaru. She has given world premieres of newly discovered concertos by Leokadiya Kashperova, Nadia Boulanger, and George Enescu, as well as four concertos written especially for her.

Alexandra Dariescu makes her debut with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra in the 2026/27 season, performing Clara Schumann's Piano Concerto for the first time in Iceland, with conductor John Storgård
