Recurrence: A new CD from Iceland Symphony

Recurrence is a new CD from Iceland Symphony published and recorded by Sono Luminus. The album contains five works by Icelandic contemporary composers conducted by Daníel Bjarnason, Iceland Symphony Orchestra's artist-in-residence.

"Seldom has a set felt so completely alive..." Richard Allen for a closer listen.

Recurrence features music by Daníel Bjarnason (Emergence), Þuríður Jónsdóttir (Flow & Fusion), María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir (Aequora), Anna Þorvaldsdóttir (Dreaming), and Hlynur A. Vilmarsson (bd).

The release of the album coincided with the Los Angeles Philharmonic's landmark Reykjavík Festival, which is co-curated by Esa-Pekka Salonen and Bjarnason. During the festival, the Los Angeles Philharmonic performed Daníel Bjarnason's Emergence (April 13), Hlynur A. Vilmarsson's bd (April 13), and María Huld Markan Sigfúsdóttir's Aequora (April 15), all included on the new album.

Recurrence, which has received unanimous praise from critics, is sold in Eymundsson bookstores, Smekkleysa, 12 Tónar and Epal store in Harpa Concert Hall.

Also available online: iTunes , Amazon and Spotify.
