Lára Sóley appointed artistic director fo the Reykjavík Arts Festival
The Board of the Reykjavík Arts Festival has appointed Lára Sóley Jóhannsdóttir as the artistic director of the Reykjavík Arts Festival from this coming autumn for four years.
Lára Sóley has held the position of managing director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra since 2019, and the orchestra's board extended her contract in 2023 until 2027. She will serve as managing director of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra until the autumn.
“It has been incredibly rewarding being the managing director fof the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, I have learnt so much from all the fantastic people that work there. The orchestra is made up of an exceptional group of people who work hard to bring us diverse and outstanding music. I am proud of the work of the Symphony in recent years, the achievements we have made, and I look forward to continuing to collaborate with the orchestra in a new role,” says Lára Sóley.
