Ever since its 1993 premiere in the National Theatre, Þorvaldur Þorsteinsson's The Message Pouch, with music by Jóhann G. Jóhannsson, has received rave reviews. The music, which has lived a life of its own outside the theatre, was featured on a Litli Tónsprotinn concert in autumn 2013, in a cheerful orchestral arrangement by the composer himself. And now, The Message Pouch is back by popular demand.
We step into the magical forest in the company of top-flight actors and singers who open up the pouch and bring the characters of the forest to life. Mamaline the tailoress, Little Red Riding Hood and the wolf, Snow White and her stepmother, Hansel and Gretel and the witch, and last but certainly not least, Dribble the dwarf will entertain concert guests of all ages and turn Eldborg Hall into a magical world all its own.
The ISO joins forces with the adventurers in the forest as they act to rescue Mamaline's little son Puck. The composer, Jóhann G Jóhannsson. was Musical Director at the National Theatre for years.
A captivating and invigorating musical adventure for the entire family.
