Mozart's Magic Flute, possibly the most popular opera of all time, is a genuine adventure for music lovers of all ages. The prince Tamino embarks on a journey in order to rescue the lovely Pamina, but it gradually comes to light that her mother, the Queen of the Night, who sent him on the journey, is not all that she seems to be. Assisting Tamino is the birdcatcher Papageno, who has little time for lofty thoughts but can certainly appreciate good food and drink and, above all, yearns to find a soulmate. In the end, Tamino and Pamina fall in love, but they must complete some Herculean tasks before they can fulfil their destiny and be together. The ISO presents a one-hour arrangement of Mozart's masterpiece performed by narrator and five young Icelandic vocalists who have all pursued continuing education abroad and received outstanding reviews for their singing and acting. The narrator is Þórunn Arna Kristjánsdóttir, who tells the story with just the right note of humour. A heartwarming and unforgettable adventure for the whole family!
