The story of Maximus Musicus is one of Iceland's most beloved musical adventures and has traveled around the world to great acclaim. The kind little mouse wanders into a rehearsal with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, where he experiences the music firsthand and leads listeners into the enchanting world of the symphony orchestra. The author of the Maximus Musicus musical adventures is Hallfríður Ólafsdóttir, who was the principal flutist of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra for over two decades. Þórarinn Már Baldursson, a violist in the orchestra, illustrated the stories. The adventure has received various recognitions and awards and has been translated into numerous languages.
The music featured in the concert comes from various sources, and includes Bolero by Maurice Ravel, Á Sprengisandi by Sigvaldi Kaldalóns, and, of course, Maxi's Song.
The concert is a source of great fun for the whole family.
