Aunt Sophie, Claus Climbermouse, and the baker's apprentice — not to mention the unforgettable robbers Kasper, Jesper, and Jonathan — are just some of the characters from Egner's enchanting tale, now performed in Eldborg hall by the Iceland Symphony Orchestra for the first time. Songs and stories have long delighted children of all ages, and the characters in Thorbjørn Egner's works rank among Icelanders' dearest friends.
Hosting this tantalising family concert are nationally known singer-actors Jóhanna Vigdís Arnardóttir, Pálmi Gestsson, Valur Freyr Einarsson, and Örn Árnason, with the staunch support of the talented Kársnes School Choir. Join the Iceland Symphony for a magical journey to Cardamom Town and Huckybucky Forest, where friendship and solidarity are celebrated.
This is the first performance with the orchestra by Swedish conductor Marit Strindlund, a prominent conductor of opera and ballet in Scandinavia and beyond, including appearances at Covent Garden.
