The Iceland Symphony Orchestra hosts its sixth conducting course under the direction and guidance of its Chief Conductor, Eva Ollikainen. In the Academy, young and talented musicians have the opportunity to expand their horizons on the conductor's podium and work with a full symphony orchestra under Eva's mentorship. This grassroot level works has already yielded rich harvests, with students of the Academy already making their mark on the podium, both domestically and abroad.

The Academy primarily serves students who have completed at least the intermediate level in instrumental performance or singing. Selected students are then given the opportunity to conduct the Iceland Symphony Orchestra during an open daytime concert at the end of the course.

Guests are welcome to the event, where young and talented conductors take their first steps on the podium.

Admission is free.
