The Iceland Symphony Orchestra invites children from all over Iceland to a live streamed school concert from Harpa Concert Hall at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 7. In light of an easing of the recent assembly ban, the orchestra can now again perform as a small ensemble on the Eldborg stage. The concert will be streamed live on the orchestra’s website and on RUV 2.
The program consists of bright and lively works. The Iceland Symphony’s concertmaster, Sigrún Eðvaldsdóttir, performs Spring from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, and the orchestra also performs Tchaikovsky’s The Dance of the Swans and other favorites. The concert will be introduced by the clown Aðalheiður, played by Vala Kristín Eiríksdóttir, and the conductor is Bjarni Frímann Bjarnason.
The live stream is open to everyone and begins at 11:00 am. The concert will last for ca. 35 minutes and will be interpreted in Icelandic sign language.
