The annual Christmas Concert is a musical feast for children of all ages during the holiday season. Always festive and fun, this year's Christmas Concert contains a hint of traditional Icelandic music, as folk songs meet timeless Christmas carols and delightful musical fairytales, brimming with the spirit of Christmas.
A new Christmas play infused with Icelandic and international folk songs opens the concert program and singers Gröndal, Kristjánsson and Völkudóttir perform beautiful Christmas classics. The choirs, along with dancers, perform selected parts from The Snowman, a magical Christmas adventure about friendship, by Howard Blake. The bell choirs join forces for the song "Hátíð fer að höndum ein" (The holiday is taking place) and the Langspil ensemble skillfully enhances the old national string instrument with great enthusiasm. The host is Barbara, the faithful friend of actress Halldóra Geirharðsdóttir, who brings the true holiday spirit to everyone.
The concert is interpreted in sign language.
