The Iceland Symphony Orchestra will perform at the Gothenburg Concert Hall (Göteborgs Konserthus) on 19 April 2017. The program begins with a piece by Anna Þorvaldsdóttir, one of Iceland's most renowned composers; she received the Nordic Council Music Prize in 2012 and a disc of her music was released on Deutsche Grammophon in 2014.

Víkingur Ólafsson is one of Iceland's leading musicians and also recently released his Deutsche Grammophon debut album, consisting of études by Philip Glass. Here, he plays Richard Strauss's rarely heard Burleske, and the concert concludes with the ever-popular Symphony no. 2 by Sibelius. The conductor is Yan Pascal Tortelier, the ISO's Chief Conductor.

The concert will be live from GSOplay and www.sinfonia.is at 17:30 GMT.
