The Iceland Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is seeking an Artistic Advisor for a 50% position for one year.

The Iceland Symphony Orchestra has been a leading force in Icelandic musical life for over 74 years and has long been among the foremost orchestras in the Nordic countries. The orchestra has received outstanding reviews for both its recordings and concerts, both domestically and internationally. It holds about 100 concerts each season, including subscription concerts with world-renowned conductors and soloists, and also collaborates with artists from other genres. Artistic Advisor
The Iceland Symphony Orchestra (ISO) is seeking an Artistic Advisor for a 50% position for one year. We seek a creative, organised, driven, and capable person with extensive knowledge and passion for music and a joy for working with people.

Job Description
Responsible for shaping and implementing ISO's artistic strategy.
Artistic consultation for the Managing Director, Artistic Director, and board.
Artistic consultation for the education and marketing directors.
Chairing the orchestra's programme committee.
Responsability for overseeing and developing a seasonal programme in collaboration with the Artistic Director and the programme committee
Contract negotiations with artists.
Involvement in annual operational planning.

Qualifications
Comprehensive knowledge of music with an emphasis on classical and contemporary music.
Good understanding of the operations of symphony orchestras, conductors, and soloists/vocalists.
Exceptional communication skills.
Independence, motivation, and initiative in work.
Good organisational skills.
Knowledge of the Icelandic music scene is an advantage.
Knowledge of the operations of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra is an advantage.
