At the Iceland Symphony Orchestra's lunchtime concert in Eldborg, two masterpieces by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Ludwig van Beethoven will be performed, conducted by Eva Ollikainen.

The Marriage of Figaro overture is one of the liveliest music ever recorded. Mozart was truly at the height of his career in 1786 when he composed this ever-popular opera about love and destiny in the home of a married couple, often considered to be one of the most perfect operas of all time.

"There is hardly a man who loves the countryside as much as I do," Ludwig van Beethoven once said. One of the most influential examples of his love of nature is the Pastoral Symphony, where he describes a sweet existence amidst streams and rivers, trees and birds, though unexpected storms upset everything for a while. This wonderful piece of music is interpreted by Eva Ollikainen, principal conductor of the Iceland Symphony Orchestra.
