In recent years, the podcast Fílalag has become one of the nation's most popular music programmes. Hosts Bergur Ebbi and Snorri Helgason share the stage in Eldborg with the ISO for the first time, setting sail and exploring music gloriously performed by a full symphony orchestra. The concert features classical and popular works of music fused together with contemporary history and pop culture: classical pieces that have inspired popular artists, pop songs that have a classical alter ego, and music that has captured our hearts through beloved movies or other significant events – in spaces outside the concert hall.

Bergur Ebbi has a long career behind him as an author, lecturer, and stand-up comedian. Snorri Helgason's career as a musician spans almost two decades, during which he has worked on many solo albums and theatrical productions. Together, they have produced the podcast Fílalag since 2014. The episodes are well over 200 in number and have collectively been streamed almost a million times. The pair have brought their podcast to the stage of the Reykjavík City Theatre, and their television series about Icelandic pop music was broadcast on RÚV (the National Broadcasting Service) last spring. A concert for all those who dig the orchestra.
