LA/Reykjavík Festival at Harpa Concert Hall

In April 2017 the Los Angeles Philharmonic presented a “Reykjavík Festival” at Walt Disney Concert Hall, an ambitious enterprise which received unanimous praise from audiences and critics alike. In October 2017, the Iceland Symphony Orchestra will reciprocate with its own “LA/Reykjavík” festival in Harpa Concert Hall.

The program details will be announced in early June, but the preliminary program is as follows:

Tuesday 3 October: Leila Josefowicz, violin recital 
Program to include music by John Adams

Thursday 5 October: ISO concert
Leila Josefowicz, violin
Daníel Bjarnason, conductor
Program to include music by Igor Stravinsky, John Adams, and Esa-Pekka Salonen

Sunday 8 October: Calder Quartet
Program to include music by Esa-Pekka Salonen, Daníel Bjarnason, and Andrew Norman

Thursday 12 October: ISO concert
Richard Kaufman, conductor
Program to include music from classic Hollywood films
