Appearing as soloist at the Iceland Symphony´s Advent Concert is Elfa Rún Kristinsdóttir, who has drawn well-deserved attention internationally and was recently nominated for the Nordic Prize. Elfa Rún performs JS Bach's magnificent Violin Concerto in E Major on this evening's concert. She has been highly praised for her interpretation of Bach, and her new CD of the Bach Partitas has received outstanding reviews. Two engaging works by Mozart round out the programme: the bubbly overture to The Marriage of Figaro, and his Symphony no. 39 in Eb Major, one of the last that he wrote. Also on the programme is a coronation anthem by George Frideric Handel, sung by Iceland's leading youth choir.

Norwegian conductor Eivind Aadland, who works with the ISO every year, is an unusually inspired and meticulous artist who elicits superb results every time he conducts the orchestra.

This evening's concert is sure to touch the heart of every guest, ushering in the holiday season in style.
